Wharenui - Meeting house

Whare tūpuna (ancestral house) and important ancestors are depicted in it. It's like a library of information about people and events of the past, or like a gallery with portraits of ancestors. The wharenui is built to symbolise a human form, inside being the belly of the ancestor.
